Enbrel(R) (etanercept) Is the First Biologic With Published Efficacy and Safety Data for up to a Decade of Continuous Use for the Treatment of Moderate to Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis
SAN FRANCISCO – Oct. 27 – Amgen (Nasdaq: AMGN) and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, a division of Wyeth (NYSE: WYE), today announced that ENBREL is the first biologic with published clinical trial data to show sustained improvements in multiple measures of efficacy in moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients completing up to 10 years of therapy. In this analysis, the safety profile remained consistent with continuous ENBREL use for up to 10 years. These new data are being presented at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Scientific Meeting in San Francisco. (Abstract 1007; Poster Board 268)

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., Oct. 22 – Amgen (Nasdaq: AMGN) reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS), excluding stock option expense and certain other expenses, of $1.23 for the third quarter of 2008, an increase of 14 percent compared to $1.08 for the third quarter of 2007. Adjusted net income, excluding stock option expense and certain other expenses, increased 11 percent to $1,308 million in the third quarter of 2008 compared to $1,181 million in the third quarter of 2007. Stock option expense on a per share basis totaled 2 cents for both the third quarter of 2008 and the third quarter of 2007.

Amgen Appoints Francois de Carbonnel to the Company's Board of Directors
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Oct 03, 2008 – Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Francois de Carbonnel to the Company’s Board. Mr. de Carbonnel, 61, is a consultant and corporate financial advisor. He is also chairman of the board of Thomson S.A. (Euronext Paris:18453; NYSE:TMS), an international multimedia corporation. He is also a member of the boards of Pages Jaunes S.A., a French public company, Quilvest S.A., a public Luxembourg company, Ecofin Global Utilities Hedge Fund Ltd. and Ecofin North America Utilities Hedge Fund Ltd., both Irish public companies. His appointment brings the number of Amgen Board members to 12. Mr. de Carbonnel will serve as a member of the Audit and Governance and Nominating Committees of the Board.

District Court Affirms Patent Infringement Rulings and Finds That Amgen is Entitled to a Permanent Injunction against Roche
Court Also Upholds Validity of Patent Claim in TKT and Aventis Litigation
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) announced today that the United States (U.S.) District Court in Boston issued its written decision upholding the prior jury verdict and court rulings regarding the infringement, validity and enforceability of 10 claims of four of Amgen’s erythropoietin (EPO) patents. The Court also ruled that Amgen is entitled to a permanent injunction prohibiting Roche from selling its pegylated-erythropoietin (peg-EPO) product MIRCERA in the U.S. Previously, the Court entered a preliminary injunction preventing Roche from selling peg-EPO, and Roche has appealed that ruling. In today’s decision, the District Court stated that it would enter a permanent injunction once the appeal of the preliminary injunction is resolved.
