Emmy® and Tony® award-winning actress Blythe Danner and Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) today launch Act 2 Reduce Fractures™, an educational campaign for women with postmenopausal osteoporosis at increased risk for fractures. Earlier this year, Danner was diagnosed with postmenopausal osteoporosis at increased risk for fractures and wants to encourage women like her to educate themselves, take action and speak to their doctors to learn all they can about helping to strengthen their bones. The campaign is being supported by American Bone Health, the Global Healthy Living Foundation and the Older Women’s League.

Amgen Announces PDUFA Date for XGEVA® Supplemental Biologics License Application
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., Aug. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/—Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will target a Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) action date of April 26, 2012 for the supplemental Biologics License Application (sBLA) to expand the indication for XGEVA® (denosumab) to treat men with castrate-resistant prostate cancer to reduce the risk of developing bone metastases. Bone is one of the most common places for cancer to spread. If approved in this expanded indication, XGEVA would become the first therapy licensed to prevent or delay the spread of cancer to bone.

Amgen Highlights Data to Be Presented at American Society for Bone and Mineral Research Meeting
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., Aug. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/—Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) today announced that it will present data from several Prolia® (denosumab) studies, including eight year efficacy and safety data from a Phase 2 extension study in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis with low bone mineral density (BMD), at the 2011 American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) Annual Meeting in San Diego, Calif. from Sept. 16-20, 2011.
