LEWISTON, Maine and THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Sept. 9 – Amgen has signed on as the presenting sponsor of The Dempsey Challenge: A Journey for Hope, a cycling and 5K fundraising event scheduled for October 4 in Lewiston, Maine. The event supports The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center.

Amgen Scholars Discover Their Potential During Summer Science Research Program and National Symposium
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – July 20, 2009 – From July 18-20, more than 260 of the country’s brightest undergraduate students met at UCLA for the third annual Amgen Scholars U.S. Symposium designed to bring together program participants and help them apply their science research experiences into future science careers.

Now, the same opportunity will be extended to undergraduates throughout Europe. As part of its mission to advance science education, the Amgen Foundation, in partnership with three of Europe’s leading universities, today announced the launch of the Amgen Scholars Program in Europe.
