CHICAGO – May 31, 2008 – Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) today announced interim results of an open-label Phase 2 study demonstrating a positive response rate to administration of denosumab in subjects with recurrent or unresectable giant cell tumor of bone. The study was presented at the 2008 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting.

Denosumab Achieved Superior Bone Mineral Density Gains in Head-to-Head Trial Versus Weekly Alendronate (FOSAMAX(R))
Phase 3 Study Showed Bone Mineral Density Gains at All Skeletal Sites Measured with Denosumab Administration
BARCELONA, Spain – May 28, 2008 – Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) today announced complete results from a head-to-head, double-blind study comparing the effects of twice-yearly subcutaneous injections of denosumab versus weekly oral doses of alendronate (FOSAMAX(R)) on bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women with low BMD. The results were presented during a late breaking session at this year’s 35th Annual European Symposium on Calcified Tissues (ECTS) meeting. Top-line results of this study were previously reported in January 2008.

Amgen Announces Webcast to Discuss Results of denosumab Phase 3 Head-to-Head Study versus alendronate at the Upcoming European Symposium on Calcified Tissues Conference
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – May 27, 2008 – Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) today announced that it will hold a conference call on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, beginning at 8 a.m. Eastern Time to discuss the results of the denosumab Phase 3 head-to-head study versus alendronate (the "141" study) at the upcoming European Symposium on Calcified Tissues (ECTS) Conference in Barcelona, Spain. Speakers will include the principal study investigator, Jacques P. Brown, M.D., Head, Division of Rheumatology, Le Centre hospitalier universitaire de Quebec, and Catherine Stehman-Breen, M.D., Amgen’s vice president, Global Development - Bone Therapeutic Area.
